St Lucia today. We woke quite early and watched the ship dock. Our excursion had been delayed so we finally had breakfast in the main dining room. This gave E in particular a chance to eat things missing from the buffet i.e. Alpen, Greek yogurt and eggs Benedict.
Inter island flights only
We then got off the ship and waited in the queue for our trip which was a city tour on a chu-chu train followed by the beach. Needless to say, the train was late!
Costa Fascinosa
Unfortunately the weather gods were not kind to us today and it rained for most of our trip.
Castries, like many Caribbean towns, is fairly scruffy. We had a stop at the church and got hounded by street sellers and then went to the beach. It was still raining so E decided to opt out of her usual paddle which would have been a bit like a slightly warmer experience than a paddle on a wet day in Scarborough but much less attractive.
Back to the ship for fish and chips and a beer and the afternoon turned out to be fairly sunny. We sat on the balcony with headphones on as the singing from the karaoke bar on shore was generally awful!
After dinner we went to see Greatest Day - the Take That musical. The story was a bit thin but the music was great and the Headliners did a fantastic job belting out the boys' greatest hits.
