Friday 10 February - Philipsburg, Sint Martin / Saint Martin

After last night's speedy sail to St Maarten, we had a leisurely breakfast enjoying the lovely warmth.

As this was our 4th visit here, we didn't plan on going out and about.  We headed to the morning quiz to find there was only us and one other couple.

The theme was identifying celebs from their eyes or chin. It wasn't easy, but we did manage to pip our rivals by 1 point to win two more gold stickers. Maybe we'll get a pen now!

We then got off the ship and had a walk around the port area but did not stay out too long as the sun was a bit fierce and it remains very windy. On board we had a drink followed by lunch in the dining room.

We were feeling much more lively this evening, so after dinner we went to the Amber Lounge and listened to a pianist, Julia Bi
hari, who played a lovely set of music very reminiscent of what Joyce used to play.

We then went to the theatre to see Neil Lockwood in concert - wow! wow! wow! Neil took over from Jeff Lynn for a time as lead singer/guitarist of ELO.

He played all the hits and had the theatre rocking. Such an atmosphere. Later we saw a singer, Hannah Stearne, who performed in the Sky Dome and was also excellent.

There were even some acrobatic performers in the Atrium.

Epilogue

None of the following are complaints, but rather observations based on our experiences of cruising in general and with P&O in particular...
